Pacific Palisades is where our practice feels most at home. The neighborhood mixes mid century hillside homes, new architectural builds and family estates tucked into the canyons, and each of them asks something different from its technology. We design and install systems here with the terrain in mind: split level floor plans that swallow Wi-Fi, ocean air that punishes cheap outdoor hardware, and views that deserve shades and lighting smart enough to stay out of the way.
As the Palisades rebuilds and new homes rise across the neighborhood, we join projects at the plan stage. We produce full low voltage drawings, coordinate with your architect, builder and designer, and pre wire during framing so that lighting control, audio, cameras, networking and future upgrades never require opening a finished wall. On a rebuild, this is the single cheapest moment to get technology right, and the difference lasts for decades.
We serve the Palisades from within the Westside, so a site visit is a short drive, not a scheduling project. Consultations happen at your home, walk through first, catalog later. And when the install is done, the same team that built your system answers the phone.
The work changes with the terrain. In the Huntington Palisades the lots are flat and generous, and the questions are about lighting scenes, shading and a network that reaches the far end of a deep garden. On the bluffs around Castellammare, wind and salt reach the hardware, so outdoor equipment has to be chosen for coastal exposure rather than for a catalog photograph. In Rustic Canyon and Santa Monica Canyon the tree cover is beautiful and unkind to wireless, and the answer is almost always more cable and fewer repeaters. In the Alphabet Streets and Marquez Knolls we meet split level plans where the media room, the primary suite and the office each sit on their own level, which is a coverage problem long before it is an equipment problem.
Rebuild projects add their own rhythm. Permits, utility work and the general contractor's schedule decide when we can be on site, so we plan our rough in around framing inspections, and we leave spare conduit for the systems you have not chosen yet.
As soon as there are floor plans. Our drawings sit alongside the architect's set, and the rough in happens during framing, before insulation and drywall. Coming in at that stage costs a fraction of retrofitting later, and it means no finished wall is ever opened for a cable.
On the bluffs and in the west facing canyons, yes. Salt travels on the marine layer and corrodes ordinary outdoor speakers, mounts and camera housings within a season or two. We specify marine grade or properly sheltered hardware for exposed positions, and standard equipment where the architecture genuinely protects it.
Because the signal has to cross floors, retaining walls and a hillside cut into the plan. One router at one end of the house cannot cover that. We run cable to every level, place access points where people actually sit, and manage them as one network so devices hand off without dropping.
Yes. Most of our upgrades happen in finished homes, using attics, crawl spaces and existing chases. We protect finishes, patch what we touch, and schedule around the household rather than the other way round.
